I use many different mediums, such as pencil, ink, computer and photography. When you love to create, one form is never enough. Each art and design idea manifests in its own individual style.

"What does iLLUCiD STUDiOS mean exactly?"

One day, about 20 years ago, I found myself contemplating a question. "If a lucid dream is an experience through which we exert our control, what then is a normal dream where all control is lost and we become a helpless passenger inside our own mental compost bin?" This is when I came up with the name iLLUCiD STUDiOS. "Illucid" being a made up word that I invented to describe a "typical" and boring dream state in contrast to a lucid state where we take control and zoom through the sky's like Peter Pan. This concept was reflected most clearly in my early career, while still an art student. My grades were some of the highest in my class, I was actively engaged in contract work on the side, and I was the recipient of a merit scholarship. Everything was perfect. But life's misfortunes blessed me with some real whoppers and before long I found myself swept away in its torrents, seemingly helpless, lost and alone. For many years I continued down life's rapids, bobbing and bouncing, crashing into rocks, lungs flooding with muddy waters. I believed myself to be without control, a victim, a rudderless man trapped in a dream in which he had no input. An "illucid dream". Needless to say I have learned much since then. I no longer view myself as the victim, rather I choose to see myself as the captain of a craft of my own making. I may live in this dream but I do not have to be its hapless passenger. My eldest brother helped me see that for the very first time and this knowledge changed my life forever. The name "Illucid" reminds me every day that this company is mine, its future is mine, and its successes and failures are mine. Nor would I want it any other way.

"Why does your name have lower case i's in it?"

It looked cool with the font I chose. A visual and purely aesthetic choice.

"Who is your favorite artist?"

Michael Parks. Talk about a man who understands the difference between lucid and "illucid" dreaming...
